Dr. Michael Silies

CEO of Ahrenkiel Steamship GmbH & Co. KG

Dr. Michael Silies studied in Münster, Oxford and Göttingen. He joined MPC in 2003 and started to work as a fund manager in the trustee company. Having managed numerous shipping and real estate funds, Dr. Silies has worked on the structuring of all MPC shipping funds since 2005. He also has several years of experience as Managing Director of national and international investment companies managed by the MPC Group in the maritime and oil and gas sector. From 2011 to 2015 he was managing director of MPC Capital Maritime GmbH and responsible for the structuring and restructuring of MPC's shipping funds.

Olaf Staats

CFO of Ahrenkiel Steamship GmbH & Co. KG

Olaf Staats studied tax and finance in Rinteln and holds a degree as "Diplom Finanzwirt" and German tax advisor ("Steuerberater"). His shipping career started in 1992 at NSB Niederelbe Schifffahrtsgesellschaft. Since 2005 he was responsible for the shipping activities of Fondshaus Hamburg, a member of the Ahrenkiel Group. In 2012 he was appointed Managing Director (CFO) of Christian F. Ahrenkiel Holding and its subsidiaries, including Fondshaus Hamburg and various single ship entities.

Jan-Eric Panitzki

COO of Ahrenkiel Steamship GmbH & Co. KG

Jan-Eric Panitzki is a master mariner who started his seagoing career in 1984. Following his sea service onboard of tankers, container and large RoRo vessels he took his first position ashore as Marine Superintendent/Quality Manager in 1996. Since then he has gained extensive experience in technical and crew management with ship owners and 3rd party ship managers in senior positions. In 2004 he was appointed as Managing Director of Wappen-Reederei GmbH & Co. KG, a ship manager of IMO II chemical tankers and container vessels linked to Hansa Hamburg Shipping International. He was one of the key persons in charge when the company was established in 2001. Following a period of close to 10 years with Wappen-Reederei he worked as Managing Director for V Ships Germany and as Fleet Director for Shipcare Management/MedallionMarine.
