Ahrenkiel Steamship
In April 2014 the Christian F. Ahrenkiel Group merged with a joint venture established by the MPC Group, thereby pooling the fleet of Ahrenkiel Shipmanagement, MPC Steamship and Thien & Heyenga. The activities of the newly formed shipping group Ahrenkiel Steamship, which is operating under the traditional Ahrenkiel banner, include ship management and ownership of maritime assets. The group is building on the deep roots of its founding companies, combining more than 150 years of maritime tradition and experience.


Christian F. Ahrenkiel GmbH & Co. KG was founded 1950 as a ship owning and liner company with trades to the U.S.A. and Great Lakes and developed through the decades to a ship management and ship owning company in the fields of container vessels, bulk carriers but also tankers, reefer vessels, gas tankers and car carriers. It is known for its high management standards, especially in respect of ISO certification, environmental and energy efficiency.

MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Steamship GmbH & Co. KG
Founded in 1999, the Hamburg-based shipping company MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Steamship GmbH & Co. KG is part of the MPC Group which foundation goes back to the year 1846. MPC Steamship's activities include all aspects of commercial and technical ship management for container ships, bulk carriers, tankers and reefer vessels including the chartering, buying and selling of vessels.

Thien & Heyenga Bereederungs- und Befrachtungsgesellschaft mbH
The ship management and chartering company Thien & Heyenga was founded in Hamburg in 1977 as a comprehensive provider of ship management services for container and Reefer vessels and has over the years established itself as a shipowner and shipmanager of quality tonnage.
